Genre Film Script Analysis

For my media class I have to analysis a movie opening and compare it to the script for the movie. I pick one of my favorite movies: The devil Wears Prada.

1.How does the scriptwriter show important details in the first few pages?

In the first few pages of the script of the Devil wears Prada it shows us what the story is about by showing Andy getting ready with normal clothes while other girls are getting ready with make-up and expensive clothes. This shows the message of Andy to the fashion world. The different shots and angles cut to show this message. The intercut shots of Andy getting ready compared to other girls create a sequence of what is occurring in the first scene. This shows the audience that Andy does not fit into the fashion world and it is done with no dialogue as well. The audience is able to understand it with just actions that are displayed on the screen,

2,) What is the difference between the script and what we see in the movie?

In the film we see more comedy which the script mentions but the film shows them more detailed. The film also shows more emotions compared to the script. Such as, the main character Andy is seen as awkward through her facial expressions. The script has descriptions but the film displays more emotion and humor.
