Planning Your Film Opening

 The Devil Wears Prada opening scene is an inspiration for my groups film opening. The Devil Prada film displays the main character in a rush to get to work. I would like to begin my film opening with the main character in a rush to get coffee before school. The film begins with the main character getting ready for work and the angles show Emily getting ready for work and I like the way it is displayed through the close up shots and rotating camera. It establishes the main character who is in a rush which is similar to how I want to establish my main character.

Mise en scene for film opening:

The main character is named Claire Jones. She is known as messy person. In the film opening she will be wearing sweatpants with a hoodie. She will also have a messy bun with a wallet.

Rough draft: 

 First scene: 

Claire is running late for a class; she runs into a coffee shop and runs right back out after realizing she is short of one cent. She looks around and spots a wishing fountain, pauses for a second, then walks over debating whether to grab a penny out of the fountain. She does, then runs out of scene to the coffee shop. 

Second scene: 

The Coffee shop gets wrong coffee sees she is late for class. She gets stuck at a red light on the way to school. Her breakfast drops while she is driving to school. She gets a text message from a college application learning that she got declined. Her phone then dies as she arrives to school. She gets out her car and her backpack rips open causing all her books to fall out and we see her picking up her books at she runs off screen.

Location Areas: The walk on University drive and most likely school !!
