Pre-production and Mise-en-Scene of my Film Opening

This is all of the plans for pre-production and mine-en-scene for my groups film opening!!

Location: The location for the film opening will be at The Walk on University drive. My group decided this based of the space that is available for us to film. 

Address: 2920 N University Dr, Coral Springs, FL 33065

Costuming: My group is currently preparing the proper clothing that is needed for the film. We will most likely used are own clothes for the film. The main protagonist is Claire who is known as someone who is unorganized and just messy. We need to pick clothes that portray the characters personality. 

Script: We are have a finished script for the film opening as well!! We are currently working on the shots that we plan on using!!!

Additional information: My group practice filming our opening and we got an idea of what shots we want for the final filmed version.

Sound of water rippling 

TITLE: THE RIPPLE EFFECT

EXT: CITY PLAZA- EARLY MORNING 

The sunlight beams on a very busy plaza. In the center of the plaza sits a beautiful wishing well that water ripples and is home to many coins. 

A TEEN GIRL is seen sitting at the fountain staring at the water and suddenly, A HAND grabs A COIN out of the wishing well. 

CUT TO: 

EXT. PLAZA SIDEWALK- CONTINUOUS 

The same HAND now holds the PENNY as she is walking towards the plaza’s COFFEE SHOP. 

INT. COFFEE SHOP CONTINUOUS 

 Claire dumps everything inside her purse into the counter causing chaos. A pile of COINS, CRUMPLED RECEIPTS, and a few DOLLAR BILLS scatter across the surface. 

Claire gathers all of the money counting under her breath and she pulls the penny out of her back pocket, pulls out the PENNY, and places it on top of the pile of money. 

She exhales 

CLAIRE 

(relieved) 

Just enough. 

She smiles then begins to laugh anxiously. 

INT. COFFEE SHOP-MOMENTS LATER 

Claire waits for her coffee order and eventually receives her order from the BARISTA. 

She smiles, then takes a sip of her coffee as she realizes that her coffee was made WAY TOO BLACK.   

She approaches the counter again 

CLAIRE 

Excuse me, my order is wrong, I wanted it to be- 

Claire WATCH BUZZES LOUDLY with an alert reminding her that she needs to go shopping for groceries. 

CLAIRE  

The groceries-- 

Claire freezes  

CLAIRE 

Never mind 

Claire proceeds to walk out of the coffee shop in a hurry and as she approaches a GUY in front of her, he rudely bumps into her HARD without saying anything. 

EXT. OUTSIDE COFFEE SHOP-SIDEWALK- CONTINUOUS  

Clara RUNS to car 

INT. INSIDE CLAIRES CAR CONTINUOUS 

Claire gets into the car as she sets her coffee down and begins to reverse out her parking spot. 

She eventually reaches the grocery store, and Claire is seen walking out into the store. 

EXT. GROCERY STORE-PARKING LOT-LATER 

Claire gets out of the car and runs into the entrance of the store   

INT. INSIDE GROCERY STORE-CONTINUOUS 

Claire looks at a very crumble grocery list  

She searches shelf after shelf  

Empty  

She proceeds to find the items on the list  

She shakes her head out of frustration  

Claire finally finds something that she needs – a bottle of sauce  

She looks at the price 

CLAIRE 

(disbelief) 

                                                                     5 dollars? That is too much! 

After debating whether she wants to get the sauce bottle she finally decides to get it but just before she reaches to grab the bottle 

But another HAND GRABS IT FIRST. 

Claire freezes  

Claire stares in disbelief  

Before she can react, her phone RINGS LOUDLY, an obnoxious ringtone echoing through the aisle. 

She checks the screen 

GRANDMA 

Claire answers quickly  

CLAIRE  

I’m on my way!! 

She hangs up and runs out of the store 

EXT. GROCERY SORE-PARKING LOT- MOMENTS LATER  

Claire runs as she looks for her car 

She pauses  

Her parking space is EMPTY  

CLAIRE 

Where is my car!
