Media theories for my film opening

Cultivation theory could be applied to my groups film opening. My film is about beliefs and karma which shapes what people see. Clara stealing the penny out of a wishing well represents what is wrong and the bad luck occurring is the consequence to her actions. This results in the audience realizing how small actions can result in major impacts. The penny might not be proven to be the reason she gets bad luck but the audience feels like it is due to beliefs and tropes of bad luck.
